Higgins will get things done right
To the editor:
There’s an old saying, “If you want something done, give it to the busiest person.” I would add, if you want something done and you want it done right, give it to Carol Higgins.
Carol Higgins is running for a seat in the 59th District of the Michigan House of Representatives. Carol knows how to work hard and how to get things done. She fights passionately for those things she believes will make our county a better place in which to live.
Carol is a true champion of public education. Carol taught in the Marcellus Public Schools for many years. Her experience as a teacher, allows her to make informed decisions about school policy. She has actually been in a classroom. She understands what will work and what will not work in our schools.
The Republican Party is trying very hard to change the public schools. They are orchestrating changes which will allow for more charter schools and private schools funded with public dollars for private profits. Most parents don’t want charter or private schools for their children. Parents want strong public schools to educate their children. Carol will work hard to put the focus back on developing top-notch local schools.
Our public schools are changing and Carol is someone who can assist in that change. She will work hard to keep charter schools in check and private schools dependent on private funds. Carol will always work to keep the needs of our students foremost in her mind.
