Governed by God or ruled by tyrants

To the editor:
The form of government our Founders gave us was a Constitutional Republic. It’s not a democracy, oligarchy or dictatorship.
The foundation of the United States Constitution is the Declaration of Independence. This document clearly says that we are “endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
This means our individual “unalienable” rights come from our Creator, not from a King or a government.
Over the years there has been an elitist power group who doesn’t like our Constitutional Republic. They want us to ditch it and replace it with a “New World Order.”
This group now controls all the branches of our national government. They no longer respect the people of the United States or the Constitution.
Look at the condition of America today; it hardly resembles the appearance of those glory years. We are a nation of decreasing freedoms as we tolerate governmental intrusions that would have been regarded as unbearable by our Founding Fathers.
Our Founders repeatedly warned us about what would occur if we as a nation would drift away from the foundations that were part of the framework our freedoms rested upon.
The Founding Fathers framed the U.S. Constitution to control the sinful desires of man and their government. And one of the responsibilities of government is to defend our freedoms and liberties in the Constitution, not destroy them.
Can we keep the “Republic” our founders gave us?
Well, “We the People” need new leaders who will protect the rights of our Constitution, and will protect the unborn child. Pray for God’s mercy on America, for bad government happens when we fail to seek Him.
William Penn said it best when he stated, “Men must be governed by God or they will be ruled by tyrants.”
