Richard Jacobs, 95 of Kalamazoo, passed away Monday, March 28, 2022. Richard was born on Aug. 31, 1926 in White Pigeon to William and Edith (Gray) Jacobs.
Richard served his country during WWll as a Seaman first Class. He married the love of his Life Joan Peters on Jan. 1, 1948 in White Pigeon. Richard was a bricklayer by trade. He loved fishing, gardening, family, turtle trapping and food distribution.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; son Alfred (Jennie) Jacobs of Kalamazoo; two sisters, Martha Ruggles of Three Rivers and Marie Cole of Kalamazoo; one brother, David (Jane) Jacobs of Constantine; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, William and Edith; siblings Mary Mueller, Elmer, Roy, Dale, Frank, Melvin, Clifford, Raymond and Mildred; daughter Jill Pagels; and grandson Daniel Pelfrey.
Cremation will take place. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on April 22, 2022 at Bethany Chapel, 15130 Millard Rd. in Three Rivers, with a memorial service following at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek.
Memorials in Richard’s honor can be made to the American Legion, VFW, or the Wounded Warrior Project.
