Marvinn served in the United States National Guard alongside his father and his brother. He began his 38 year career in 1948 with Michigan Association, which later merged with General Telephone, retiring in 1986 as a division service manager. Blackie had served as president of three different Kiwanis Clubs including Davison, Imlay City, and Three Rivers and was instrumental in starting the chapters in Imlay City and Three Rivers. He had served as past president of the Chamber of Commerce in Davison and the Gilead Lake Association in Bronson and was a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Burr Oak. As a young adult Marvinn enjoyed playing softball and had found success in the ring of boxing. Later, his interests shifted to hunting, fishing, and most of all golfing. Blackie harbored a heart of true devotion not only to his family but to all who shared in his journey of life. He will be dearly missed as a father, grandfather, and friend.

Marvinn is survived by his children Eska (Bradley) Wilson of Birch Run, Linn (Daniel) Morris of Eaton Rapids, Anita Flewelling of Bronson, Scott (Michelle) Morrill of Three Rivers, David (Sherrill) Morrill of Stevensville, Dean (Connie) Morrill of Three Rivers, and son-in-law Keith Flewelling of Davison; his sisters-in-law Patricia Morrill and Patricia Morrill both of Coldwater; 21 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
