Glen Oaks men fall to Trine

CENTREVILLE — The Glen Oaks Community College men’s basketball team fell to 0-5 with a 67-60 loss at home Monday to Trine University’s JV team.
Leading Glen Oaks in scoring were Christian Oakley with 21 points, while Melvin DeVeaux added 12 and Gabe Sturgis 11 for the Vikings.
DeVeaux added eight rebounds and Sturgis had seven. Tyler Shank, a Constantine native, had four steals and nine points. Noah Beegle, another Constantine graduate, added two points and five boards and Mendon native Jordan Medich contributed four points and five rebounds.
“Trine came out with a great energy,” said Glen Oaks interim coach David Victor. “We didn’t match that energy for most of the game. By the time we decided to play our brand of basketball, we were in catch-up mode, and it was too late. I really want our guys to take this game and use it as fuel to get better. There is so much room for improvement. We’ll get there. We just have to keep working, and build on the positives.”
