Paint recycling

Roger Bruischart of Sturgis (left) dropped off 30 gallons of latex paint to volunteer Heather Klinger (right) and her father and ePaint Recycling LLC Business Manager Ted Klinger (not pictured) at the St. Joseph County Grange Fairgrounds on Saturday, Oct. 15 in Centreville. “Good, useable paint” was separated into 13 basic colors and would later be filtered and reprocessed before being transferred into new containers that are then sold to Habitat Humanity re-stores in an effort to “keep paint out of water tables and landfills.” Residents of St. Joseph County were also able to properly dispose of “household hazardous waste” and recycle “electronics, tires and paper” at the fairgrounds Saturday as part of programs offered by St. Joseph County and the County Solid Waste Committee.
