Three Rivers Police arrest Benton Harbor man for use of inhalants

THREE RIVERS — The Three Rivers Police Department Thursday arrested a 34-year-old Benton Harbor resident for using inhalants in the Walmart parking lot.
An officer was dispatched to Walmart to investigate a suspicious vehicle, where a white Ford sedan running in a driving lane was found. An officer approached the vehicle to investigate and found a man sitting in the driver’s seat.
It was determined that the man was inhaling “air dusters.” He was severely impaired and not responding normally to the officer’s verbal contact, according to the TRPD.
A second officer arrived to assist, when an officer entered the vehicle and shut the engine off, after which the man was secured in cuffs and arrested.
The Benton Harbor resident was processed and released on bond with a court appearance date in 3B district court.
