Semi carrying pigs rolls over on S. Main, driver hospitalized

THREE RIVERS — The driver of a semi-truck was hospitalized following a rollover crash on the south side of Three Rivers Thursday.

According to the Three Rivers Fire Department, the incident occurred around 9 a.m. on the curve of South Main Street near Sixth Street. The cause of the crash was unknown as of Thursday afternoon.

Officials say the semi was carrying 60-80 pigs in its trailer at the time of the rollover. All but one of the pigs reportedly survived and were loaded onto other trailers. The semi was on its side for nearly four hours, until it was successfully righted around 1 p.m. by towing crews.

The driver was reportedly transported by Three Rivers’ ambulance to the hospital, and their condition is unknown at this time.

Assisting the Three Rivers Fire Department on scene was Three Rivers’ ambulance and Broker’s Towing.
