Arrest for theft of campaign signs

SILVER CREEK TOWNSHIP — The Silver Creek Township Police Department in Cass County arrested an individual during the early morning hours of Thursday, Oct. 27 on two charges of larceny under $200 for the alleged theft of two campaign signs from two separate addresses around 4 a.m. The maximum penalty for each charge if convicted is 93 days in jail and/or $500 (MCL 750.356).
Upon arrest, the defendant posted $400 cash bond and was released pending arraignment.  An arraignment date for the defendant is expected to be established by the District Court in the next several days.
