GIANNI DIANNE (CHAPLIN) ASH

Gianni Dianne (Chaplin) Ash, age 72, of Three Rivers, passed peacefully in her home with family by her side on Oct. 2, 2019.
Gianni was born Sept.17, 1947 in Plymouth, Ind. and was the daughter of Noel and Doris (Hostetler) Chaplin and wife of late Ernest Olin Ash Jr.
She graduated from Three Rivers High School class of 1966. After years of being estranged, she reunited and married her high school sweetheart on Dec. 23, 1977 at Moorepark Mennonite Church.
Gianni was a domestic diva. A fantastic cook. She also had other jobs including working at Crocker, as a vet tech, for the census, catering, and at Pioneer.
Gianni had a love for animals, her favorite being horses. She owned and cared for horses, rode them, and even participated in competitions.
Gianni loved fair week in Centreville. She’d spend the whole week there if she could. She’d stroll through all the barns, checking out the vendors and animals. Her favorite spot was The Miracle Of Life tent and being able to watch the animals give birth. She also enjoyed watching the horse pulls and tractor pulls. She would spend hours watching the grandkids ride rides, just hang out and spend time with them. Then she’d end her day at her camper with a warm elephant ear or a piece of peanut butter fudge over a nice cup of hot tea.
Traveling was her passion. Some of her favorite places were being up north, camping at Spring Mill, Niagara Falls, Brookfield Zoo and the Science and Industry Museum in Chicago. She enjoyed reading and bible studies. She was also a fantastic artist and always enjoyed a good laugh over coffee with friends.
Gianni had every right to cry, be mad, or even fall into depression after the death of her husband in 2017, but instead she loved and lived every moment she was given. Neither hard times nor illness would rob her of who she was.
She always had a smile even when times were tough. She had a quiet strength. She never complained and always looked at the positive in life. She was always grateful until God called her home. She had a great love for the Lord. This was the ultimate payoff to be reunited again in heaven in the loving arms of those who’ve passed before her.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her sisters; Patricia Makenzie, Michelle (Todd) Jones, Joanne (Dave) Grosskunze; kids; Ernest (Lisa) Ash, Donald (Tana) Ash, Mary Ash, Robert (MaryJo) Chaplin, James (Sara) Ash, Matie (Jesse) James. She also leaves 24 grandkids and a plethora of great grand kids. Gianni was always supportive and encouraging, always wise and kind.
She was proud of them all.
A beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She will be greatly missed!
Memorial Service will be held ?on Nov. 3, at 2 p.m.? at New Hope Church, ?56652 Buckhorn Rd, Three Rivers MI 49093??.?
